Description
This position reports to the International Freight Forwarding Divisional Controller and is located in Secaucus, NJ. The Manager of FP&A will work across all business partners with the objective of delivering high-quality financial analysis and insights. The ideal individual will have demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational skills and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. Many of these duties will involve interface with senior management and will require a high degree of professionalism, tact, sensitivity, initiative and diplomacy.
- Conduct assigned financial studies and surveys to collect, summarize and analyze the financial results of operational activities
- Improve financial status by analyzing results and variances, identifying trends and making recommendations
- Develop, implement and maintain reports to support the organization accounting function as required, including financial and operational KPI reporting in Power BI dashboards
- Lead or assist on special projects as assigned by division management
- Collaborate in monthly analysis of results and forecasts
- Assist in the annual planning and budgeting process by developing relevant budget documents and calibrating and creating monthly forecasts
- Support the Business Units in building the budget in required formats
- Under the guidance of the Division Controller –
- Review monthly financial reports prepared by accounting department and identify reasons for variances
- Analyze trends in accounting/financial data and make recommendations to capitalize on positive trends or reverse negative trends
- Financial Forecast (monthly)
- Validate financial forecasts based on data
- Coordinate with the corporate financial analysis team
- Assist in vetting capital investment projects
- Support business units in improving quality of financial data
- Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other related Degree
- 4-6 years of experience in financial analysis
- 2+ years of supervisory/ managerial experience
- Experience in financial analysis and accounting for logistics operations is highly desirable
- A CPA designation or MBA degree is a strong plus
- Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills are required. Working knowledge of operational ERP systems and Power BI is desirable
