Job Summary
This position provides industrial injury prevention program services focused on total worker health.
Services provided within OSHA first aid guidelines across a region at designated service centers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide rapid first aid and medical care for employees as needed, as well as for emergencies when the clinic is open within the IIPS scope of practice.
- Coordinate care with WorkCare's Incident Intervention® Injury Management Program and utilize Physician escalation services as needed.
- Provide episodic care for minor medical issues, medical consultation, and recommendations according to treatment care guidelines set forth and in collaboration with the WorkCare Consulting Medical Director (CMD) and policies/procedures.
- Evidence-based practice and health promotion.
- Develop and provide Injury prevention through demonstration, education, and ergonomic evaluation.
- Assist with the return-to-work assessment, fitness for duty exams and transitional work plans prior to the employee returning to work.
- Make modifications to interventions either to progress the employee as directed by the CMD or to ensure employee safety and comfort.
- Maintain frequent communication with the WorkCare CMD and WorkCare Regional Program Manager regarding all clinic issues and client requests.
- Support psychosocial strategies, referral to EAP and support Case management efforts, as deemed necessary.
- Help employees prevent injuries to maintain proper alignment, movement and manage pain.
- Develop job-specific agility routines and related programs.
- Support Health Fairs and other Wellness Initiatives with educational materials and presentations including, but not limited to, encouraging healthy lifestyles by coaching employees about nutrition, fitness, stretching, sleep hygiene and how to manage stress.
- Obtain data (such as biometrics) related to wellness interventions and provide wellness checks, obesity weigh-ins, blood pressure checks, etc.
- Facilitate use of available company resources such as employee assistance programs (EAPs) fitness centers, health risk appraisals.
- Report to client and WorkCare management periodically.
- Collaborate with the Work Care CMD to support clinical issues and client requests.
- Contribute insight to incident reports and tracking of injury and clinic utilization data.
- Actively participate in the emergency response team activities, drills, and training.
- Maintain Data, OSHA 300 and the clinic encounter data entry process supported by clinic software and/or EMR system.
- Ordering and maintaining supplies to ensure that the clinic is appropriately stocked.
- Provide common pre-packaged over the counter (OTC) medicine at standard OTC dosage to employees for episodic conditions.
- Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field required
- Must hold CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience in orthopedics, wellness, industrial/occupational health, or ergonomic experience a plus
- Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in relevant field
- Ergonomic certification
- BOC Certified AT, in good standing
- At least 3 years' relevant experience

- Valid Driver's License and transportation method
- Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
- Computer Skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and have the ability to learn new software as needed
- Physical Demands
- Ability to walk long distances – 1-2 miles per shift.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires sitting, working at a desk.
- Bending, stretching, and the ability to frequently get in and out of a vehicle.
- Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
- Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard and mouse.
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
- Work Environment
- Mainly indoor, office environment conditions.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
- Air quality is good and temperature is controlled indoors.
This is a full-time onsite position in Clinton, MO that will work 4-10 hour shifts.
The work schedule is Monday-Thursday 9:00am-7:30pm CST.
The hourly pay rate for this position depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications. The minimum is $33.00 per hour.
