Job Summary: 

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will provide onsite first-aid treatment, maintain pertinent medical records, respond to facility emergencies, and become familiar with the site, specifically the areas that may most likely require a hazardous material response while maintaining a professional and patient-centered approach.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform medical surveillance exams as per protocol and within scope of practice. Exams include hearing, vision, respiratory and skin, asbestos and reproductive health, confined space and Power Industrial Vehicles, & fit testing.
  • Provide emergency response according to client requirements.
  • Provide onsite first-aid treatment.
  • Become familiar with the plant, especially aware of areas in the plant that is likely to require a hazardous material response.
  • Participate in ergonomic team activities.
  • Participate in the emergency response team activities, drills, and training.
  • Inventories supplies in the designated space (clinic)
  • Schedule and perform all medical surveillance exams to ensure compliance.
  • Provide drug testing.
  • Provide education to employees as needed within scope of practice.
  • Provide wellness coaching and, as appropriate.
  • Participating in general flow of clinic operations (answers phones, checks mail, medical records, filing, copying charts, traffic control)
  • Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of WorkCare.


Qualifications

Education and Experience 

    • Current Occupational Health Technician in the state of practice (Idaho) license required 

    • Must have 3-4 years of experience 

    • Alternative to minimum qualifications, additional appropriate education or work experience may be substituted 

    • Must have CPR/ACLS certification 

    • Must have current and valid Driver's License 

    • DOT, Drug & Alcohol Certification

    • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. 

    • Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors, and clients. 

    • Strong time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.

    • Ability to meet and exceed daily and weekly individual performance goals. 

    • Ability to work independently as well as assisting other team members when needed. 

    • Requires regular and predictable attendance and punctuality. 

 

  • Computer Skills 

    • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed. 

 

 

 

  • Physical Demands 

    • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk. 

    • Some bending and stretching could be required. 

    • Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.

    • Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. 

    • Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch. 

    • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. 

 

  • Work Environment 

    • Mainly indoor, office environment conditions. 

    • The noise level is usually moderate. 

    • Air quality is good and temperature is controlled. 

 

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:00pm.
