Job Summary

The Drug & Alcohol Compliance Coordinator will provide administrative support for the medical review process. Communicate with clients, donors, labs, and clinicians to handle drug test inquiries. Perform daily call center and administrative activities related to drug testing compliance, documentation and process control, and vendor issues.

 

A Medical Review Officer Assistant certification is required; or must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.

 

This is a second shift position that will work Saturday-Wednesday 2:30pm-11:00pm EST.


Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the MRO vendor, clients, clinicians, and other stakeholders to ensure documentation accuracy and time efficiency for all results.
  • Document detailed information related to client/donor interaction and review-related issues.
  • Answer phone calls, and/or emails from clients, donors, clinicians, and laboratories relating to results, testing, documents processing, reporting and other issues.
  • Maintain the process required for compliant medical review and assist in the resolution of issues related to that process.
  • Coordinate receipt of source documents with the MRO; resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data on the documents under review.
  • Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of all results in the MRO review process.
  • Request documentation from vendors, clinics, or clients as required to complete the review process.
  • Receiving and reviewing custody-and-control forms to identify correctible, potentially fatal and fatal flaws requiring the cancellation of drug tests.
  • Perform extensive follow-up with the client and other co-workers to assure completion of review in a timely manner.
  • Addressing medical confidentiality and information disclosure issues.
  • Performs additional duties and assumes additional responsibilities as identified by supervisor for the efficient operation of WorkCare.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Post high school education in business, healthcare, or related field preferred.
  • Requires certification as a Medical Review Officer Assistant according to federal Department of Transportation guidelines, or certification within three (3) months of hire. Failure to obtain MRO-A certification within three (3) months of hire will result in termination.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the field of drug and alcohol collection processes strongly preferred.
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills to communicate with clients at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Computer Skills
    • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.
  • Physical Demands
    • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk. Requires the potential to stand for longer periods of time, working at a copier/scanner. Some bending and stretching required. Working under stress and use of telephone required. Manual dexterity required for use of calculator and computer keyboard and mouse. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Work Environment
    • The noise level is usually moderate.
    • Air quality is good, and temperature is controlled.
    • Work Environment must be free from background noise and distraction, noise level is acceptable, temperature is controlled. At home set up must meet all Company IT, privacy and safety requirements.

Additional Job Information

The work schedule is Saturday-Wednesday 2:30pm-11:00pm Eastern Time. Candidates can reside in any time zone as long as they can work the hours of the position.

 

The salary range for this position is $16.00-$18.00 per hour. Compensation offered to the final candidate within this range depends on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.

* A candidate offered the high end of the range will have an MRO-A certification and/or have direct experience facilitating the drug and alcohol compliance process in a similar capacity.
