CAPD RN- Responsible and accountable for setting standards of care for the acute and chronic peritoneal dialysis patient. Oversees the home dialysis program.

Facilitate and direct the nursing care in the unit/department access, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care. Utilize the nursing process as the means of care delivery.
- Oversees all patient teaching to enable patient to perform home dialysis; coordinates the patient training, supply ordering and home visits.
- Coordinates monthly clinical assessment of each patient and sees that interdisciplinary care conferences are held each month.
- Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team regarding patient problems as they arise.
- Develops the nursing care to achieve optimal patient outcomes in collaboration with the Director.
- Monitors departmental compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines of DOH, DNV, ESRD DOQI.
- Utilizes patient satisfaction data to improve care and services.
- Provides direct nursing care and on-call coverage for CAPD and hemo in times of need.
Collaborates with the Director in developing and implementing unit specific goals, objectives, values and mission.
- Demonstrates positive leadership within the hospital.
