We are committed to making a difference for our neighbors, friends, and family and our vision is to be a trusted, nationally-recognized leader of innovative, collaborative community health.    Employment Status: Full-Time Working Hours: 40 hours a week (80 hours per pay period) Shift: 1st shift Position Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer                 Job Summary: The RN Quality Management Specialist will be accountable for assisting in meeting the goals of improving quality outcomes, promoting a high-reliability patient safety program, reducing operational risk, and meeting all regulatory requirements in conjunction with the goals of the said Department and Wilson Health's overall Strategic Plan.  The RN Quality Management Specialist will be required to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage projects across the organization to develop and implement new and/or improve processes, and monitor performance measures.   Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• The RN Quality Management Specialist will complete clinical quality reviews, data abstractions and initiate timely submissions to appropriate outside entities and analyze data for opportunities related to improving patient outcomes and improving processes, as assigned.
• Responsible for monitoring progress, initiating Process improvements and completing timely submissions for various outside entities including but not limited to Anthem Scorecard, the Leapfrog Group, Quality Net-CMS, and IBM Watson Health Analytics, as assigned.
• Responsible for extensive chart reviews applying quality assurance criteria.  Screening patient care cases and making recommendations for provider peer review, as assigned.
• Acts as a consultant for managers and front line staff for improvement opportunities using LEAN methodologies, as assigned.
• Responsible for coordinating and reporting the elements of the Hospital QAPI Plan, as assigned.
• Responsible for promoting a culture of safety through risk assessment based on observation and event reporting, as assigned.
• Assists with hospital wide patient safety/quality initiatives, as assigned.
• Responsible for Developing, coordinating and maintaining structures and processes for achieving and maintaining Quality, Safety and Regulatory accreditations and certifications, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Nursing Degree – minimal BSN with at least 5 years direct care-nursing experience in acute care experience a plus.
•  Background in Quality Management in a healthcare setting preferred
•  Ability to review and analyze data, utilize EXCEL, Word, Outlook and additional web based databases.  Understanding of LEAN methodology preferred.
