Wellstar Health Systems is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Surgeon to join a 5-surgeon practice at Level II ACS-verified Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in the Roswell/Alpharetta area, just north of Atlanta.
This young and energetic group is primarily responsible for covering trauma call and acute care surgery cases, with plans to expand elective surgical practice.
Highlights include:
Flexible call schedule: Typical call is one weekend per month, with weeks of call Monday-Friday shared equally between partners. Call during the week consists of 12-hour shifts (7a-7p) with scheduled and consistent backup available. Call requirements will not exceed 7 24-hour periods (or 14 12-hour calls) per month.
Opportunity to expand elective practice on weeks not covering trauma call.
APP support with PA-C present during the week and at night for rounding/orders/notes, or to first assist in OR.
Teaching opportunities, as surgical residents from Kennestone Hospital GME surgery program rotate through North Fulton and are in-house during weekend call.
Great work-life balance with protected time away from the hospital with which you can enjoy all that the Atlanta area has to offer!
Typical monthly schedule includes one weekend of call, one week of call with 5 (Monday-Friday) 12-hour shifts, and free time to see and perform elective cases. Also, would have 1 day of clinic per week when not on call. Night call is covered equally among the remaining partners, and call is taken from home.
