Description
The right candidate will be a board-certified family physician, ideally with teaching and leadership experience, to provide clinical, educational and administrative services as core faculty at our new Family Medicine residency at WellSpan Health-Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
This is a unique opportunity for a family physician with knowledge, passion and heart to initially help build a practice from the ground-up with the support of an integrated health system that boasts two other FM residencies within the system. Once the residents are in place, core faculty would divide their time supervising residents in patient care, advising and mentoring residents, working administratively for the ongoing growth of the residency program and seeing their own patient panel in the office. Ongoing opportunities for faculty development through mentoring and conferences available.
Position Highlights
- Unopposed program based at WellSpan Health- Chambersburg Hospital and a local practice
- ACGME initial accreditation received, Program Director and APD in place.
- Initially will focus on building the patient panel in the residency outpatient practice.
- Assist in the interview, selection, evaluation and mentoring of residents.
- With Program Director, APD and other core faculty, build a 6-6-6- program with expected first class in 2025.
- Develop high-quality educational curriculum and experiential rotations per ACGME requirements.
- Must be board certified ABFM or AOBFM.
- OB and Inpatient care is not required for this role, but would be welcomed.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or
- Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required
- Board Certified Family Medicine
Licenses:
- Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or
- Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required
Courses and Training:
- Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of WellSpan Health-Chambersburg Hospital. Upon Hire Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Role Model Professionalism and Evidence Based Medicine
- Teaching, evaluation and mentoring ability
