JOB DETAILS:
Certifications Required: ACLS and BLS; TNCC is a plus
Pathways to Excellence Certified.
Working toward Magnet status.
Certified Stroke Center.
Certified Chest Pain Center.
Level II Trauma Center.
All nursing shifts are twelve hours from 7 to 7; every other weekend.
Floating policy: Nursing staff will float to other Medical-Surgical Units in the hospital as needed with priority focus on pulling to Intensive Care Units.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be willing to care for COVID-19 patients.
Have ICU experience.
Positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, desire for excellence, self-motivated, good communication and people skills.
Ability to work in a diverse environment.
Advanced skills needed: Ventilator management.
Critical care drip knowledge, thorough and accurate assessment skills.
Proficient knowledge with cardiac, neuro, and respiratory systems.
FACILITY DETAILS:
Number of Beds: 18.
Patient Ratios: 2:1.
Unit staffing description: RNs and Unit secretary. Total care is provided by RNs.
Type of equipment: Ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, Balloon pumps, ventriculostomy drains, glucometers. Use of iMobile phones and technology by all staff in the hospital. PPE includes masks, face shields, goggles, gloves, PAPRs, and hoods for any suspected COVID-19 patient.
Patient Experience requirements: Hourly rounding, bedside hand-off reporting, completion of My Care Board during hand-off report; use of AIDET with a focus on compassionate connected care.
Documentation system: Meditech using EBCD (Evidence Based Clinical Documentation)
Procedures performed on unit: Intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain placement and management, IABP management, continual renal replacement therapy (CRRT), proning of patients.
NOTES:
Dress Code: Ceil blue scrubs, White or ceil blue scrub jacket optional.
If working with COVID patients, green surgery scrubs will be provided upon arrival to unit.
