This is a PRN position (On-Call - No Benefits) - you will receive an additional 15% PRN pay in lieu of benefits

HOURS: 6:00am - 4:30pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs nuclear and nonnuclear cardiac stress test.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Assists with scheduling outpatient treadmill stress tests.
  • Explains purpose and procedure of stress test to patient.
  • Prepares patient for testing which includes set up of modified 12 lead EKG and continuous monitoring throughout entirety of test with rhythm identification and interpretation.
  • Maintain/clean stress test machines and equipment.
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise with stress testing equipment.
  • Verify all necessary supplies are available, stocked, and reviews for expiration dates regularly.
  • Performs routine and emergency EKG acquisition, management of MUSE platform. Downloads, collates, prepares for physician interpretation; transcribes physician interpretations into database system, and processes confirmed reports. Demonstrates basic understanding of EKG configuration and rhythm recognition.
  • Will be responsible to take call after clinic hours for testing needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • HS diploma or GED
  • BLS on first day or to be assigned by the Learning Center
  • ACLS - within 3-months of hire (to be assigned by the Learning Center)
  • One of the following:
    • Registered Nurse (RN)
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
    • Exercise Physiology Certification
    • 1-year of experience in Cardiac Stress Test Laboratory can replace the above licensure/certification
