- Traveler must meet all minimum requirements below to be considered.
- Do not submit traveler who have or will have expiring licenses and/or certifications during time frame of entire assignment. Traveler will automatically be declined.
- Only submit traveler who has minimum cardiac, thoracic, cardiovascular experience including heart and lung transplant experience. Make sure detail of this experience is noted in the resume.
- The Surgical Technologist prepares the Operating Room prior to surgery, promotes the safety of the patient during surgery, provides assistance to the surgeon during surgery, cares for the patient during surgery and cares for the instruments and supplies used in surgery.
- The Surgical Technologist functions to promote the safety of the patient as a member of the surgical team.
- The incumbent possesses knowledge and skills required to assist in effectively caring for patients of all age groups (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric).
- Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum two years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required (looking for strong cardiac, thoracic, and transplant experience - including heart and lung). Ortho trauma, Eye, ENT, Neuro experience is helpful.
- Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
- Prior traveler experience highly preferred.
- Education: Successfully completed a surgical technologist program or two years' experience in Surgical Technologist role may be considered in lieu of completion of program.
- Schedule Information
- Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience.
- The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
- During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
