Assists the Office of Undergraduate Education through the development and implementation of the Comet Cents Money Management Center. Reports to the Senior Director of Undergraduate Programs in the Office of Undergraduate Education.
About the Comet Cents Money Management Center The Comet Cents Money Management Center provides education to currently enrolled students on personal financial topics such as saving/budgeting, credit management, student loans, identity theft, and financial responsibilities after college.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, with a minimum of four years of experience in program/project development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Education, or Social Sciences, or a Master's degree from an accredited university, with 4-5 years relevant work experience working with student programs in higher education and/or financial literacy programs. Experience planning large- and small-group events involving internal and external constituents. Experience working with populations. Experience with fundraising, grant-writing, digital marketing, and formalized program assessment. Experience and ease presenting information to large groups in an engaging manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide daily supervision, training, and leadership development for student financial coaches in the Comet Cents Money Management Center.
- Develop and deliver Comet Cents Money Management Center curriculum focused on financial wellness for various departments, programs, class groups, and student organizations on campus.
- Work with on-campus partners to create customized money management curriculum for specific student populations, to improve student academic outcomes.
- Assess internal and external financial literacy partners, products, and services for their use in providing credible personal money management education to post-secondary students and other audiences as needed.
- Oversee social media content creation and engagement for Comet Cents Money Management Center.
- Oversee the planning and execution of outreach events and initiatives focused on financial awareness, including, but not limited to, Money Week and Financial Literacy Awareness Month.
- Oversee the development, administration, synthesis, and analysis of strategic goals and assessments; identify areas of need for the Comet Cents Money Management Center and introduce improvements and/or new initiatives as appropriate.
- Function as primary email and in-person communication contact for addressing individual student needs regarding the Comet Cents Money Management Center, including the scheduling of one-on-one peer financial advising sessions.
- Seek and engage in opportunities to ensure representation of the Comet Cents Money Management Center at various university events.
- Meet regularly with the Senior Director of Undergraduate Programs in support of the
- Comet Cents Money Management Center, as well as with the Undergraduate Programs team.
- Regularly research college and university financial literacy program best practices reported in academic literature.
- Attend national and regional conferences to learn current and best practices in higher education financial literacy programming and to represent the UT Dallas Comet Cents Money Management Center.
- Be detail-oriented and have strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to productive teamwork, and the ability to work with people of various cultures and backgrounds.
- Collaborate and coordinate with other university services and programs to foster a supportive and informed cross-functional approach to student support.
- Required attendance to program events in the evenings and on weekends.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Remote Work Notice: A hybrid remote work schedule may be available, and completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment. Employee must be located within the DFW area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice.
