Description

Under the leadership and guidance of the Director of Education, this position is responsible for the leadership, management and supervision of the Infant/Toddler program, staff and building.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree; Three to five years experience in a field relevant to the program; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or closely related field Director Certified A total of 10 years of experience in an early childhood program with:
  • Four (4) years experience of leadership in a licensed early childhood program in an administrative capacity (i.e. site director, supervisor, etc.); including program planning, organizing, staff training, and supervising
  • Six (6) years experience teaching and caring for young children.
  • Five (5) years leading/teaching in an accredited program
  • Three (3) years of experience as a director or teacher working specifically with groups of children birth to three years old in a licensed and accredited childcare facility.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure department meets regulatory, accreditation and program and licensing requirements.
  • Monitor and observe classroom experiences to assess the support and training needs of the teaching staff.
  • Staffing the department to ensure classroom meets program child/staff/ratios and budget/HR considerations.
  • Assist in interviewing, hiring, on boarding, and training of prospective and new employees.
  • Coordinate the repair and maintenance of the Infant/Toddler building and grounds, and maintain a developmentally appropriate, clean, and welcoming environment to all that enter.
  • Monitor the child screening and assessments.
  • Plan and provide training to individual, group and other program staff as required or requested
  • Monitor and supervise teachers, assistants, associates, and administrative assistant.
  • Promote developmentally appropriate active learning experiences,Conscious Discipline practice and strategies, and primary care giving with staff and parents
  • Participate in Leadership Team initiatives including team meetings and strategic planning sessions.
  • Create performance reviews for each employee and meet annually to create individual goals and strategies.
  • Maintain/Order necessary supplies, materials and equipment.
  • Orient new parents upon enrollment and establish and maintain trusting relationships.
  • Speak effectively before a group, the public or community officials.
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the staff and program.
  • Demonstrate initiative and work with minimum supervision.
  • Any other task as assigned by your supervisor.


Additional Information

Must have a negative TB test. 24 hours of approved training hours are required annually.

Work Notice:
Work will be performed on-site and in person.
