Description

This position will provide in-depth advising and benefit processing to international students in accordance with federal immigration regulations and UTD policies and procedures. This position will also facilitate various immigration workshops and presentations.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or Associate degree and 2 years' experience working with college students or adolescents or community groups in an advisory, administrative or educational capacity. Must be a U.S Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident to meet USCIS eligibility requirements.

Preferred Education and Experience

Completion of the free, self-paced online training for DSOs at https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/2013/10/online-training-designated-school-officials OR prior DSO experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Advising and Processing Immigration Benefits (F-1 Student Program)
  • Advising prospective and current students, and alumni through various methods and platforms
  • Determining eligibility for immigration benefits and processing requests
  • Collaboration
  • Providing immigration presentations and workshops
  • Participate in office, team and individual projects to support the efficiency, effectiveness and responsible services of the office
  • Keep abreast of evolving regulations and procedures
  • Keep technological skills current and adapt to new office technologies and processes
  • Attend conferences, networking events and webinars; provide conference presentations where possible
  • Develop contacts with the local International Education community
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Remote Work Notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. May be required to use personal computer and other standard office equipment. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
No relocation assistance is available.
