Description
Perform accounting work for a central University office – Receivables and Sponsored Accounting. Apply advanced accounting knowledge in the preparation of a variety of complex financial transactions and reports. Answer questions, resolve accounting related issues and provide guidance or information as requested.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree – Accounting or Finance.
- Three to five years of accounting work experience. An equivalent level of education and/or experience is acceptable.
- ERP Accounting Systems – Intermediate proficiency.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience in Accounts Receivables and Higher Education
- Ability to work independently, including task coordination and decision making, as well as in a team environment
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in advanced functions of the full Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis in Microsoft Excel
- A successful candidate must be a self-starter, who is detail oriented, has the ability to meet deadline-oriented tasks, possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational and analytical skills. Applicant must be able to adjust readily to multiple demands and shifting priorities and work well in a team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Research and process payments for University invoices and campus deposits including daily bank deposit and reconciliation to Peoplesoft Financials.
- Collection efforts for unpaid invoices
- Maintain customer/sponsor financial system records
- Professionally interact with management, departments and outside parties in response to questions and requests for information
- Audit support
