At the UTD Callier Child Development Program, we serve children from infancy through kindergarten with a focus on individualized learning. We are looking for committed educators who are ready to:
- Develop and implement relationship-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants and toddlers (ages 0–3)

- Provide leadership and mentorship to teaching teams, part-time staff, substitutes, and volunteers

Minimum Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Child Development Assistant
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Assist in the implementation of developmentally appropriate program activities for infants and toddlers
- Support daily routines and learning experiences in a nurturing classroom environment
- Prior experience working in a child care or early childhood setting
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- One of the following:
- Current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
- Completion of at least 12 college credit hours in early childhood education, child development, or elementary education
- Assist with educational activities in a developmentally appropriate setting for infants and toddlers
- Help plan and implement child-centered learning experiences within a team-taught program
- Participate in inclusive activities involving special populations
- Communicate observations and provide feedback to parents as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Three years of experience working with infant or toddler-age children
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation criteria and/or the Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC) framework
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree in:
- Early childhood education, child development, or elementary education
OR - Any field with at least 36 college credit hours in early childhood education, child development, or elementary education
- Early childhood education, child development, or elementary education
- Provide developmentally appropriate educational activities in a classroom serving children from birth to age 3
- Assist in mainstreaming activities to include children with special needs
- Conduct regular parent conferences to support family engagement
- Develop and implement assessment plans for tracking child development
- Participate in and lead staff development opportunities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Experience as a lead teacher in an early childhood program
- Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation criteria
- Experience with the HighScope curriculum
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working with infants and/or toddlers
Additional Information
Position requires a negative TB test, fingerprint; approved and documented continuing education is required annually.
Work Notice: Work will be performed on-site and in person.
