The University of Texas at Dallas has an excellent job opportunity for individuals looking to join our team as a Business Administrator in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies.
The Business Administrator is responsible for providing departmental support for all financial functions, including but not limited to budget planning, reconciliation, reporting, and forecasting. Other areas of responsibility include staffing, procurement, asset management, records retention, oversight of the departmental One Card (procurement card) program, and completion of financial reports to support the vision of the department. The Business Administrator will maintain standard operating procedures and provide interdepartmental training on tasks associated with the position.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree; and
- Three to five years of experience performing administrative duties with two of these years in a position with unit-wide scope; and
- One to three years of supervisory experience; and
- One to three years administrative experience in higher education.
- An equivalent level of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Advanced degree preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Annual Budget for Interdisciplinary Studies and Teacher Development Center Operations Budget including balancing of salaries for faculty/staff
- Year End Review of cost center security
- Payroll for current faculty, part-time lecturers, staff, and student employees
- Student employee hiring
- Process scholarships
- Prepare reports on grants/gifts
- Account, Payroll, and OneCard Reconciliation
- Purchasing, personnel requisitions, budget/transfers, maintenance work orders, and other daily activities
- Assist with commencement and other events.
- Works with Department Heads and Dean regarding business matters of Interdisciplinary Studies to provide regular updates to appropriate personnel.
