ABOUT THE POSITION
The University of Louisville School of Medicine's Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible interventional cardiologist to join the program. We are seeking academically oriented clinicians who excel in both patient care and teaching of house staff and fellows with a strong interest in clinical or translational research. A competitive salary plus productivity bonus is offered in addition to a robust recruitment package.
The appropriate candidate will have clinical interests in coronary and/or peripheral interventions. Additional opportunities may be available for the right candidate for structural interventions and the PERT program. Applicants must be eligible for Kentucky licensure.
UofL Cardiology has a robust academic department consisting of specialists in all subdivisions of Cardiology including electrophysiology and complex ablations, interventional and structural cardiology, heart failure & transplant/mechanical device support, ECMO, complex cardiac and aortic/vascular surgery, cardio-oncology, preventive cardiology, and advanced imaging. There are additional specialized programs in infiltrative cardiomyopathy, women's heart health, and a specialized Lipid Clinic.
Research initiatives will be encouraged, and candidates will be expected to establish an academic portfolio and an area of expertise. Excellent opportunities for collaborative research exist with the state-of-the-art facilities at the Institute of Molecular Cardiology and Center for Cardiometabolic Science. Fellow and resident education is an integral component of the job. There are opportunities for academic advancement and leadership in committees depending on the level of interest and performance.
The division is expecting strong growth and recruitment over the next two years and as such is poised to become a regional leader in cardiac service line delivery and patient volumes.
