The Perinatology Sonographer 2 is a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Professional that is qualified by professional credentialing and academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures to high risk obstetric patients. The scope of practice of the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification which is the standard of practice in obstetrical ultrasound. This individual maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self–motivated to increase her/his level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.

Position Compensation Range: $32.62 – $52.19 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Must meet the education requirement for diagnostic medical ultrasound or echocardiography ultrasound certification with either CCI or ARDMS; Associate?s degree preferred.

Experience: two (2) years of clinical experience required.

License/Certification: Credentials from ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, driving (occasionally for outreach clinics); reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: Manipulation of ultrasound transducer. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids, and disease.
