Description
Responsible for processing samples for Laboratory analysis, verifying test completion in the Laboratory computer system, and providing laboratory processing support to Surgical Pathology.
- Distributes microscopic slides and reports
- Prepares tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis and stains tissue for Routine, Special Stains, and Immunofluorescence, as requested.
- Maintains and operates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and procedures.
- Demonstrates advanced problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
- Maintains a positive and professional work environment.
- Performs laboratory test procedure.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Associate?s Degree required. Bachelor's Degree (BS) in a related science field preferred.
Experience: No experience required
License/Certification: None required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting, standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking, bending/stooping and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer use. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 – 50lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, radiation (in limited specific areas), blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
