Here at our Medical Center, both our General Medicine and ICU units are looking for dedicated, energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our units!
On the General Medicine, Our unit receives patients from the Emergency Department, Medical ICU, clinics, outside hospitals, or nursing facilities. We see a wide range of medical diagnoses, from diabetes, sickle cell crisis, COPD exacerbations, ESRD with pulmonary hypertension, wounds, drains, tubes and everything in between. The Medical ICU is a 28–bed adult ICU that provides comprehensive interdisciplinary care to critically ill patients. Our team cares for the adult patient who need critical care expertise and the critical care monitoring. We care for patients with a variety of illnesses and diseases that involve the lungs, liver, kidneys, and other unique viruses. Many patients have long–term chronic diseases and require the specialized care. Many of these illnesses are life–ending and the interdisciplinary team supports the patient and the family during this difficult time. TIME TYPE: Full Time (36 hrs. weekly), Part Time (24 hrs. weekly), WAGE
SHIFT: Days/Nights/Rotating
Performs a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of Medical Center professionals in an inpatient or outpatient setting or in a patient?s home.
- Assists patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery during hospitalization.
- Performs basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN and in accordance with policy and procedure to promote patient health and wellness.
- Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
- Performs administrative support functions.
- Maintains necessary skills and competencies.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience: No experience required. Relevant experience preferred.
Licensure: Certified Nursing Aide certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 ? 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only). May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
