MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital is now recruiting for an advanced 4th-year Pediatric Oncologic Critical Care Fellowship Program, specifically designed for graduates of an ACGME-accredited categorical pediatric critical care fellowship program.

This program will provide advanced training in the management and treatment of critically ill pediatric hematologic, oncologic, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, immunotherapy, and immune effector cell patients and the impact of treatment on their long-term survival.

This fellowship will provide specialized training on the complex care involved in the management of critically ill pediatric oncology patients by increasing trainee exposure to the clinical course of patients undergoing cancer treatment and the critical care complications that arise therein.

This advanced fellowship will provide exposure to leukemia, lymphoma, histiocytic disorders, non-neuronal solid tumors, neuro-oncology, transfusion medicine, and surgical oncology. Fellows will manage patients receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy, and neurosurgical, vascular, orthopedic, and other subspecialty oncologic surgery, as well as other therapies.

Apart from clinical service time in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Inpatient Pediatric Oncology Service, and Pediatric Stem Cell Therapy service, fellows will also be able to select from elective rotations with the Pediatric Leukemia/Lymphoma team, Pediatric Non-Neuronal Solid Tumor Team, Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Team, Pediatric Supportive Care Team, Transfusion Medicine, and Pediatric Subspecialty Surgical Oncology services. Fellows will also have dedicated research time during their fellowship and will receive research mentoring from pediatric critical care faculty. Fellows will also be able to take advantage of the extensive research apparatus that exists at MD Anderson. Fellows will be able to participate in academic meetings including Hematology/Oncology Fellows' Journal Club, Stem Cell Therapy Academic Hour, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Academic Hour, Pediatric Morbidity & Mortality, Pediatric Grand Rounds, and Pediatric Research Seminars.
