Description
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is seeking an intensivist to join our highly skilled and dedicated team. As the only academic and tertiary care center in Arkansas, the ideal candidate will have an interest and experience in managing highly complex medical and surgical cardiac patients with advanced multisystem disease. These patients frequently include cardiogenic shock and post CPB on MCS such as IABP, Protek duo, Impella, and VV/VA ECMO.
Intensivists work in a multidisciplinary team collaborating with cardiologists (including interventional, structural, and advanced heart failure), cardiac surgeons, fellows, residents, APRNs, pharmacists, and medical students. Anticipated ongoing rapid growth will include LVADs, transplants, and a critical care fellowship. Candidates should have an interest in advancing the institutional missions by delivering high quality critical care, education, innovation, and research in a fast-paced and diverse clinical practice. Our coverage model includes 18 hour/day in-house intensivist coverage, day and night APP coverage as well as daytime residents and fellows. Experienced intensivists are preferred but new graduates will be considered.
