Scheduler Details
Essential Job Duties:
Answers incoming phone calls, messages in Cerner, as well as completing reminders.
Utilizes proper telephone skills to communicate appropriate information in a courteous and professional manner.
Verifies that all necessary reports are included in patient's medical record.
Schedules and/or cancels patient appointments on computer and/or appointment book.
- May assist in maintaining neatness of office and patient area.
- May physically or by direction assist patients to other patient areas.
- May schedule additional medical and/or surgical procedures.
- Performs various office duties as requested.
Provides written patient information and preps for patient testing.
Performs computer access and input of patient information.
Coordinates clearance and testing with pretesting at Union and WVSC.
Calls multiple physician offices for clearance or to schedule appointments for clearances.
Schedules all procedures.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Education, Training & Experience
- Previous medical office/clerical experience preferred.
- Ability to multitask.
- Computer knowledge.
- Previous EMR experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Must be accountable, self-directed, and possess great interpersonal and customer service skills.
