    Job Details
  • This is an AFSCME bargaining unit. The minimum base hourly pay rate for this position must be $72.88.
  • Angiography Tech (IR) Job Code 9301
  • The Department of Radiology is a 24 hour, seven day a week operation providing Imaging Services to adult and pediatric inpatient and outpatients.
  • Under general supervision, the angiography technologist performs and/or assists with routine and highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures on patients following established parameters/protocols for use by physicians in diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
  • Assist in maintaining a smooth operational flow and maximum patient volume.
  • Scrubs in and assist the physician during the procedure, circulates within the procedure room and procure all equipment needed for any given procedure, positions the patient, selects radiation exposure parameters and image the patient.
  • Maintains a high degree of accuracy and an awareness of all radiation and patient safety issues involved with any invasive procedure.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding and working knowledge of normal anatomy, abnormal anatomy and physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation.
  • Recognizes and resolves equipment operations, problems and discrepancies.
  • Anticipates patient needs and concerns and determines the appropriate care needed.
  • Uses professional judgment and critical thinking when performing procedures.
  • Performs calmly in stressful situations and interacts with radiologists, clinicians and peers in a cooperative, harmonious manner for maximum effectiveness.
  • Will be required to take call on a rotational basis.

  • REQUIRED Minimum 1 year experience
  • In and Outpatient Angiography work setting experience
