Summary of Job Duties: The Registered Nurse III will promote wellness; improve outcomes, and self-care within a defined population of patients. The RN III will provide patients who have chronic conditions the support, education, and assistance in the prevention and/or maintenance of their disease and/or health and wellness state.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or Diploma RN, with Major: Registered Nurse.
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
- Valid Registered Nursing License
- Current BLS
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN
- Minimum of 3 years of RN experience
- CCM, OCN, or other oncology related national certification.
- Experience in Prior Authorizations and Billing
- Oncology Experience

Responsibilities:
- Will work with the individual patient, their families, and providers of care to develop and implement individual health plans and provide support to the patient in self-management.
- Coordinate care and/or follow-up for patients who receive care in outpatient facilities.
- Coordination of prescription refill requests and patient education coordination in collaboration with physician staff.
- Commitment to patient outcomes results in high levels of performance despite workload changes
- Conduct detailed reviews of electronic medical records (EMRs) to extract relevant clinical data including diagnoses, treatment plans, provider notes, and visit summaries.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and aligns with institutional and regulatory standards.
- Complete Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) paperwork accurately and in a timely manner based on clinical information. Forms may include WH-380E/WH-380F, provider notes, or employer-specific documentation.
- Ensure information reflects the patient's condition, treatment timeline, and expected duration of leave.
- Provider Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and care teams to clarify clinical details and verify the medical necessity of requested leave or accommodations. Serve as a liaison between providers and patients to streamline communication and documentation.
- Patient Support & Education: Guide patients through the FMLA process, explaining timelines, eligibility, and expectations. Address questions related to documentation, certifications, and re-certifications, ensuring patients understand their rights and responsibilities.
- Compliance & Confidentiality: Maintain full compliance with HIPAA and institutional privacy policies while handling sensitive medical and employment information.
- Ensure timely submission of completed documentation to employers or third-party administrators to reduce delays or denials.
- Documentation for External Use: Prepare and maintain organized, audit-ready records of submitted forms and supporting documentation to support external reviews, minimize compliance risk, and enhance operational transparency.
- Performs other duties as needed.
