Summary of Job Duties: The Advanced Practice Nurse/PA will assist surgeon with clinic, organizing visits and performing clinic procedures. Primarily assessing patients in a clinic setting, triaging for PT and interventional pain as well as preparing them to see a surgeon visit as needed. Potentially could assist in the operating room, answer pages and round on post-operative patients on a daily and PRN basis. The APRN will be responsible for managing care of outpatients post-operatively, answering telephone inquiries and filling prescriptions. Nurse must have a high level of expertise to perform assessments/diagnosis/treatment of actual/potential problems of patients

Licensed as a registered nurse and as an advanced practice nurse (APRN) by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities:
Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
Work autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' healthcare problems; and will serve as a healthcare resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, assuring that care is timely and appropriate.
May perform other duties as assigned.
