Tufts Medical Center is currently seeking a General Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Heart Center of MetroWest in Framingham, MA.
The Heart Center of MetroWest is a large general cardiology practice with 9 physicians and 4 nurse practitioners. The practice has interventional cardiology which includes primary angioplasty, electrophysiology, and general cardiology.
How you'll transform patient care:
Testing:
Prepare all charts for testing patients that are scheduled for the day
Review all charts to prepare for the appropriate test
Supervise and Perform all nuclear stress tests, stress echoes and regular ETTs
Complete the documentation for each test performed
Ensure safety of patient by reviewing the patient and the EKGs during testing and making any appropriate decisions as necessary (stopping test, pushing patient further, administering medications)
Insert IV in patient as necessary
Be prepared to invoke a code if required
Interface with physicians, nurse practitioners and other staff to ensure patients are receiving appropriate care.
Contact physicians when there are potential issues with tests and patients.
Office:
Review medical records of patients to be seen to prepare for the visit
Interview and examine the patient as appropriate for the reason for visit
Schedule and document procedures providing patient with necessary information for their procedure
Document visit, order labs, and other testing as necessary
Update medical record with any additional testing or pertinent information
Enter orders in Hospital computer system
See any urgent visits as requested by a physician or manager
Other:
Review and address all EPIC telephone encounters for the Nurse Practitioner
Triage telephone calls as required
Refill prescriptions for patients ensuring that the medication, dosage and instructions are accurate
Complete paperwork for disability and other patient needs
Complete spreadsheet for Nuclear stress test correlation for ICANL standards
Who you are:
Graduate of an accredited and/or approved Nurse Practitioner program
Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Prior Cardiology NP experience preferred, new graduates with strong nursing background in cardiology considered
Current certification in CPR required
A team player who is excited to work cooperatively with a wide range of stakeholders and disciplines to champion world class patient satisfaction and support
