Description

As a Lead Production Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our production department. You will be responsible for ensuring that production processes run efficiently, meet quality standards, and adhere to safety regulations. Additionally, you will lead a team of production workers, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve production targets. Experience in the automotive Tier 1 industry is required. Experience in LEAN/5S principles is required. 

Work Schedule: 1st Shift, 6:30am -3:30pm (Potential temp to hire position)

Essential Job Functions

  • Plan and schedule production activities to meet customer demands and production targets.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to production schedules.
  • Implement measures to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as maintenance, quality control, and logistics to ensure smooth operations.
  • Lead and supervise a team of production workers, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members and ensure they are carried out effectively.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, productivity, and safety.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to improve team performance and skills.
  • Perform Root Cause/5Y analysis to determine reason(s) for production downtime and NPR issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with quality guidelines.
  • Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Ensure associate compliance with 5S initiatives.
  • Conduct safety training sessions and promote safety awareness among production staff.
  • Investigate accidents or incidents and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
  • Prepare production reports, including performance metrics, production volumes, and quality indicators.
  • Attend Client Production Meetings to provide updates on Production, Quality, and Safety metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field (preferred). 
  • 5+ years of experience in a Production/Manufacturing environment
  • Lean, 5S experience required.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills required.
  • Experience in the Automotive Industry is highly desirable but not required. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, production management software, and data analysis tools.

Salary Range: 

The salary for this position is anticipated to range between $25.63 and $32.04 per hour.

Pay is based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training and other considerations permitted by law. We consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with applicable law.
