M-F 8:00-5:00, 40 hours/week    Summary: Travis Credit Union's (TCU) Loan Processors support the role of the Mortgage Underwriter. This role assembles, administers, and processes conventional, FHA, VA, and second mortgage loan applications. The Loan Processor ensures all services have been ordered properly and all required documentation has been collected and reviewed per TCU guidelines. They Review files for adherence to regulatory compliance, TCU and investor guidelines, and VA and FHA guidelines.   Profile:   

  • Processes loan files compliant with TCU policy and procedures.
  • Maintains working knowledge of TCU policies and procedures, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, and FHA guidelines, and regulatory compliance for residential mortgage loans.
  • Analyzes and calculates income documentation, including wages, self-employment and rental income.
  • Gathers all necessary documentation and performs an evaluation to ensure approval conditions are satisfied.
  • Exercises good judgment, conducts reasonableness tests and issues quality decisions.
  • Prepares and submits complete quality loan files for final approval and closing.
  • Communicates regularly with members, sales team, underwriters, and closers.

  • Solid understanding of TRID-RESPA and Predatory Lending.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and professional interpersonal skills.
  • Produces highly accurate work with attention to detail in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, self-direct, and use independent judgment while taking acceptable levels of risk to complete assigned tasks within strict timeframes.
  • Ability to adapt, learn, utilize multiple software programs in a paperless environment.
  • Sound understanding of credit union products and services.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  Reporting and Experience:    
  • Reports directly to assigned department leadership.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  Working Conditions:Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available and usually sedentary in nature.   Understands the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and ensures compliance through monitoring and reporting of member activity as appropriate.   Compensation: Base hourly starting range is commensurate with experience.
       
  • $32.47/hour - $40.12/hour
