Prep/Scan Specialist Position Summary
The Prep/Scan Specialist receives all medical records the day after discharge and marks all charts off of the daily census. He/She assembles all records assuring the documents are prepped in order, verifying no other patients documents are intermixed in the chart, and a patient's label is mounted on every document. Scans the prepped chart into the Optical Imaging System. Returns all scanned documents to the appropriate areas for storage and assures boxes are properly labeled. Provides assistance to customers and hospital personnel. Must possess a good sense of judgment and display responsibility with minimal supervision. Prep/Scan Specialist Position Requirements Education- High school graduate or equivalent. Completion of medical terminology course and/or medical office work history preferred. Computer experience required. Knowledge of HIPAA Regulations Preferred.
- One to two years experience in computer entry and knowledge of windows preferred.
- Full time, day (7am to 3pm), overtime only necessary due to work volumes.

At TidalHealth, team members working at least 36 hours per pay period based on 12-hour shift schedules or at least 37.5 hours for non 12-hour shift schedules and part-time team members working at least 30 hours or more on weekends only are eligible for benefits.
