Main Function:
- Responsible for the medical evaluation, treatment initiation and coordination of a follow up treatment plan for Emergency Department & Urgent Care Center patients in an efficient, technically superior, caring & compassionate manner.
- Must work cooperatively with patients, ED physicians, technicians, nurses & attending medical staff to ensure the very best care.
- Candidate will provide enthusiastic patient centered care as a member of an excellent ED & Urgent Care team.
- Must be an enthusiastic team player dedicated to high-quality evidence based medical practice.
Required Job Specific Competencies:
- Demonstrates flexibility in prioritizing patient and department needs.
- Maintains and demonstrates knowledge base in all areas of Emergency Medicine including knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan.
- Must have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's age and functional status and interpret each patient's requirements relative to specific needs.
- Communicates effectively with staff, patients and families.
- Actively guards the confidentiality of sensitive information including but not limited to the patients, staff and the health system.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.
- Variable shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Active involvement in medical staff affairs and hospital committees.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree
- Current NYS unrestricted medical license
- Current DEA license
- ACGME residency training and experience as required by NY DOH regulations for emergency physicians
- EM residency and board-certification preferred, residency in surgery, family medicine, internal medicine or internal medicine/pediatrics considered with appropriate experience and current ACLS and ATLS.
- Board Certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or eligibility in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatrics.
- Team player with excellent work ethic, interpersonal & customer skills.
- Demonstrates the CARES Values at all times.
Pay Range: $300,000-400,000 based on experience
