Description
- The Clinical Secretary plays a vital role in assuring whole patient care is made available to each patient through referrals, prior authorizations, appts. & services.
- The Clinical Secretary will provide secretarial support for the Surgery department.
- The Clinical Secretary will be responsible for answering telephones, patient scheduling, verifying eligibility, and making necessary referrals/prior authorizations, as well as understanding, interpreting and applying multiple insurance benefits in their application to specific patients.
- The Clinical Secretary will be responsible verifying copayment amount and collection of copayment at time of service.
- The Clinical Secretary works closely with Provider Billing to assure compliance and maximum reimbursement.
- The Clinical Secretary will manage the maintenance of electronic medical records and the office's electronic medical record system.
- The Clinical Secretary will assist in, and perform diverse tasks required to maintain an efficient and organized office.
- The Clinical Secretary will proactively ensure all State and Federal regulatory requirements are met.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- 2 to 3 years of previous secretarial/clerical required.
- Medical background preferred.
- Computer knowledge and skills including but not limited to Outlook and Microsoft Word required.
- Medical terminology required (condition of employment to complete in 1st 12 months)
- ICD-10 and CPT coding experience preferred.
- Experience in a medical office setting preferred.
Pay Range: $17.97 - $22.00
Starting Rate: Based on experience
