The Medical Staff Coordinator prepares reports, correspondence to practitioners, documents as appropriate and distributes accordingly exercising skill, judgment, and attention to detail. Serves as a backup for the Medical Staff Director as necessary Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred Experience: Minimum of three to five year's medical staff services experience in an acute care, ambulatory care or managed care setting required. License/Certification: Certification as a professional in medical staff services and/or quality management preferred. CPCS certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire, or within 18 months of initial admissibility Technical Skills: Computer proficiency to include word processing, spreadsheet, and database. Ability to take and transcribe minutes. Ability to think critically, analyze complex documentation and recognize items requiring further investigation. Other: Knowledge of and ability to remain current on medical staff functions and processes, bylaws, rules/regulations, policies and procedures, accreditation standards of the Joint Commission (JC), and federal/state law. Working knowledge of basic accounting and researching medical staff resources. Must be able to deal appropriately with highly sensitive and confidential material.
