The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is seeking applications for a clinical track faculty physician. The position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, on the clinical (non-tenure) track. Appointment to the rank of Instructor (non-track) may also be considered. This position is suited for dedicated and highly qualified radiation oncologists to join our team in providing exceptional clinical care in a community practice in Bettendorf, Iowa. This practice is integrated within the University of Iowa Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center with onsite medical oncology services.

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Iowa provides physics support, radiation therapists, nursing, and support staff. The practice participates in weekly quality assurance chart rounds with other affiliated sites and with practitioners at our main site in Iowa City. Conferences are remotely accessible.

Equipment includes a Varian 21iX linear accelerator, a Phillips Big Bore CT scanner and the Mosaiq oncology management system. Treatment planning is conducted with the Philips Pinnacle system.

Capabilities include 3D-conformal radiotherapy, electron therapy, kV cone-beam CT, intensity
modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), volumetric modulated are therapy (VMAT), 4D-CT, and
stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) treatments.

Requirements & Qualifications (all candidates):

  • Candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants must have an M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree and at least four years of residency training in Radiation Oncology.
  • Candidates must be board certified or eligible by the American Board of Radiology-Radiation Oncology.
  • The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active Iowa medical license.

Desirable Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace
environment.
