Under the supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health Medicaid Programs (BHMP), the Project Manager IV will perform highly advanced project management work and collaborate with multiple departments within Behavioral Health Services (BHS) and Medicaid and CHIP Services (MCS) policy and federal coordination. This position works under limited supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Responsibilities include reviewing Medicaid policy and rule mandates to determine the potential project needs, estimated costs, projections, and impact to BHMP. This position will manage and coordinate the planning and initiation of Medicaid Rule projects at various levels of completion, monitoring the progress and schedule of projects, and communicating with project stakeholders, management, BHMP/BHS leadership, oversight agencies including the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and other relevant parties. The Project Manager IV responsibilities will include assuring policy and rule projects are delivered on time; within budget; utilizing accepted project management methodologies; and establishing and evaluating project deliverables. At the direction of BHMP leadership, may work on special projects as continued policy and rule needs arise. Assumes a strong leadership role in the management of staff working on the project, along with the development of policies and procedures, reports, studies, legislation, and guidelines. May direct, assign, and evaluate the work of other staff.
