If this sounds appealing to you, then consider our Water Wastewater Civil Engineering Intern opportunity. The position is based in Irvine, California.

 

 

The successful candidate for this position will provide engineering support for the water/wastewater group in Irvine, CA. Typical projects include a wide variety of municipal water/wastewater projects involving collection and conveyance systems, pump stations, storage and treatment facilities, and rehabilitation. This position is part of a team that specializes in the engineering of public water systems to upgrade aging infrastructure to help preserve safe and reliable water delivery for California. A strong interest in potable water, recycled water and/or wastewater infrastructure is desired.  This internship continues through the school year with part-time flexible hours to accommodate classes and finals. 

 

 

Your Role:

  • Assist in the design and permitting of projects.
  • Perform design calculations and analyses.
  • Aid in the preparation of detailed engineering reports, construction drawings, and supporting documents.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Third or fourth year student enrolled in a Civil Engineering Bachelor's Degree program
  • Valid Driver's License with and acceptable driving record
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Word software, to include Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Course experience in engineering principals, fluid mechanics, hydraulics, and treatment processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Salary Range: $22 - $25 an hour, depending on experience.
