Mekong Australia Partnership Support Unit (MAP SU): The objective of the Mekong-Australia Partnership Support Unit is to provide efficient and effective support and enabling services and delivery of selected MAP activities as directed by the Mekong Hub at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand to ensure that Australia is a trusted and visible partner in supporting a resilient, inclusive and sustainable Mekong subregion. The Support Unit will deliver the Leadership and Skills program and enabling services for the Transnational Crime program.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the TNC team in delivery of all TNC enabling services to the Mekong Hub and TNC Thematic Working Group as required to support transparency and accountability.
- Enable TNC program governance, including providing Secretariat support to regular meetings with the Mekong Hub, DFAT posts and Australian Government Agencies.
- Ensure that team members have access to opportunities to develop and extend their capabilities and experience, including by undertaking work task across Support Unit functions outside of the TNC.
- Manage resourcing planning and tasking of MAP Support Unit shared services personnel to meet TNC operational needs - including but not limited to financial, procurement, human resources and contract management.
- Lead on embedding DFAT policies and practices across TNC operations and activities covering disability equity and rights, gender equality, and localisation of TNC supply chains, and First Nations and Indigenous engagement.
- Lead and enable a high-performing TNC team with a positive and collaborative culture.
- Manage resource planning and tasking of MAP SU shared services personnel.
- Ensure all TNC operations apply up to date risk mitigations and build positive risk culture across the MAP SU.
Selection criteria:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is essential. Post graduate qualifications are preferred.
- Extensive experience in managing programs.
- Experience in logistics and with government or corporate policies such as PSEA, Fraud and Corruption and Child Protection.
- Demonstrated leadership and effective interpersonal skills in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
- Extensive experience in planning, management, and implementation of program activities, as well as establishing and improving systems and policies.
- Significant understanding of political economy and government systems in Southeast Asia, with experience in donor-funded development programs
