Our San Diego office is seeking a Stormwater Program Manager to help develop, manage, and execute innovative water quality and stormwater projects for Tetra Tech's federal, state, and municipal clients. The selected candidate will work closely with regional and national leaders on water quality, stormwater planning, environmental management, and watershed/water quality projects.

Your Role:

  • Assist agencies and local municipalities in the design, implementation, and monitoring of their stormwater programs
  • Perform and manage planning efforts, technical studies of pollutant sources, treatment and control options, data analysis, and implementation planning including life cycle cost analysis
  • Implement stormwater programs for municipal clients using intimate knowledge of MS4 permitting requirements
  • Develop programs to comply with NPDES permits, watershed action plans, and TMDL compliance strategies
  • Plan, design, and implement innovative BMPs and source control applications
  • Program management of water quality services and mange task orders and technical teams to provide these services

 

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Environmental Science, Water Resource Engineering, Aquatic Biology/Chemistry, or a related field. An advanced degree is strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of directly relevant work experience
  • Successful project/task management track record and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate complex scientific data and technical information in layman terms
  • Experience with TMDLs and similar water quality studies, stormwater planning, and collecting and analyzing water quality/biological monitoring data
  • An in-depth understanding of pollutant sources and their impacts on water quality, human health effects and risk assessment, and development of water quality criteria
  • Experience and relationships with Southern California municipalities, agencies, research groups, and/or industrial site users are required 
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and solve problems related to hydrology, water quality, and ecological processes
  • Experience using various statistical programs and techniques (regression analysis, multivariate statistics, box-whisker plots, etc.) to support data analyses
  • Strong skills and proficiency in ArcGIS and using remote sensed data

The salary range for this position is approximately $85,000 to $135,000 depending on education, qualifications, experience and work location.
