Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

•    Complete LEED documentation by utilizing knowledge of the building's  MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) designs and perform calculations as per USGBC LEED requirements;
•    Perform calculations to determine the optimum amount of energy required to be added or removed from a space;
•    Complete Piping Design calculations to design an appropriate system of pipes for conveying liquid throughout the building;
•    Design ductwork layout for proper distribution of air throughout the building;
•    Incorporate calculations into engineering drawings and specifications for the assigned Project; 
•    Develop initial engineering concepts that are to be further confirmed by the energy model;
•    Communicate with the client after identifying concepts to establish pros and cons regarding system first costs and operating costs;
•    Establish the project Basis of Design and develop the Mechanical Narrative to support such;
•    Coordinate with the architectural and structural team to locate equipment and establish required floor, roof and wall openings;
•    Communicate decisions to internal team mates;
•    Develop detailed specifications of equipment and systems including controls and sequence of operation.
•    Review installed work and respond to contractor questions for clarification.

RELATED OCCUPATION: 

Mechanical Engineer or any other job title performing the following job duties:

•    Incorporating calculations into engineering drawings and specifications for the assigned Project. 

JOB TIME:            Full Time

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 6 years of experience in the job offered or 6 years of experience in the Related Occupation.
