Join us as part of our Federal Master Planning Team! This position provides vital leadership, mentoring, planning, and landscape architecture expertise in support of Municipal and Federal planning projects. Must be able to plan, prepare, and develop documents in compliance with Local, State, Federal, and DoD policies. The successful candidate will have 8+ years' experience and support management and leadership on complex planning studies, AICP certification and/or RLA, charrette facilitation, research and preparation of UFC 2-100-1 plans on military installations, implementation plans, resiliency, sustainability, physical, social & economic issues, and provide technical support to all planning team members. This position requires the employee to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.

Your Role :
• Client management, team leadership, and charrette facilitation for a wide range of clients and projects.
• Define internal and external project schedules, graphic components, mapping/planning graphic elements, and writing assignments based on a Scope of Work.
• Design or assist in designing page layouts, various charts/figures, brochures, posters, and slide shows, and provide deliverables in various media formats. Illustrative skills are preferred.
• Review, analyze, and interpret technical material, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Facilitate a wide range of workshops and charrettes (or elements of charrettes) with communities, DoD, and other Federal agencies.
• Technical writing, plan development, editing, and delivery of various master planning content including reports and presentations while supporting planning team members on other projects.
• Assist and/or lead business and proposal development.
• Provide visualization of complex plans, narratives, or data using GIS, SketchUp, and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
Qualifications :
• A 4-year degree in urban planning; natural, physical, or environmental science; landscape architecture; or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience supporting management and leadership on complex planning studies.
• Professional Certifications (AICP, RLA, PMP, or related certification) are preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of the philosophies, principles, practices & techniques of federal, urban, regional, and/or facilities planning.
• Well-developed knowledge of principles, methodology, practices of research, data collection, and interviews.
• Well-developed knowledge of one or more planning disciplines, such as sustainability, resiliency, military community planning, land use, asset evaluations, or landscape architecture.
• Group facilitation skills for use with community workshops and team charrette experience.
• Advanced English language skills, both written and verbal, including technical writing/editing experience and a demonstrated ability to write, edit, and deliver planning content.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting planning reports and projects
• Excellent interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with elected/appointed officials or other decision-makers
• Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve less well-defined planning problems
• Group facilitation skills for use with community workshops
• Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously
• Ability to manage projects effectively and meet firm deadlines.
This position has an annual salary range of $80-135k
