As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll work closely with national industry leaders and local experts to support clients with design and construction documentation for building mechanical systems in new and existing facilities. Your Role

  • Lead mechanical design on a variety of projects, from concept phase through construction. Our projects span commercial, federal, municipal, and industrial sectors, including water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Mentor junior engineers with the potential to develop a group as desired.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations, energy models, life cycle cost analysis, and ventilation calculations in compliance with applicable codes and energy efficiency standards.
  • Size equipment and develop layouts for airside and hydronic systems. 
  • Develop specifications using MasterSpec
  • Coordinate with other disciplines, internal teams, and external stakeholders (vendors, clients, and contractors).

 

Qualifications

  •  Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) required.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
  • 10+ years in mechanical design, specifically related to design and construction documentation for mechanical, plumbing and performance-based fire protection systems in new and existing facilities.
  • Working knowledge of REVIT and AutoCad systems. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of building codes, ASHRAE design manuals and guides, and USGBC LEED requirements, specifically for new or existing facilities.
  • Ability to provide hands-on design and design team leadership on commercial, federal, and municipal projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of building mechanical equipment including fans, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, chilled and hot water loops, boilers, motors, pumps, variable speed drives, direct digital temperature controls and building automation systems. Plumbing and/or performance fire-protection experience also desired.
  • This position could require periodic travel, approximately 15% or more

CO Salary: $131,000 - $160,000 dependent on experience
