Your Opportunity

Glumac operating unit is seeking a Senior Electrical EngineerMission Critical Data Center Program Lead to join us and assist with growing our team while providing technical oversight, project and program management, and business development expertise. This role is focused on our North American operations with collaboration and integration of global resources needed to provide schedule and cost efficient services for our clients.

 

Your Impact

This role will entail:

·         Manage and execute assignments for the design and planning of data centers ranging in size from small to hyperscale. Lead multiple-discipline project teams.

·         Strong background in electrical engineering and designing data centers including ancillary power [EM1] distribution systems including but not limited to substations, HV, LV switchgear, MCCs, cable sizing, single line diagrams, area classification, grounding, lighting, cathodic protection, and electrical heat tracing in hazardous and non-hazardous areas.

·         Experience in power network studies, arc flash, load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination, and harmonic studies.

·         Perform and oversee complex electrical building design.

·         Develop conceptual and detailed design of electrical systems, load calculations, equipment sizing, selection and layout, and heat trace systems.

·         Experience with backup power, UPS systems, and generators.

·         Ability to interpret client specifications. Coordinate/Communicate with other disciplines and the client. Provide QA/QC for design packages to ensure compliance with BOD, standards, codes, and constructability.

·         Coordinate with internal marketing teams to strategize developing new clients and contract opportunities.  Meet with clients and demonstrate Tetra Tech's and your team's ability to prepare the latest in high end data center designs that will meet cost and schedule constraints.

·         Develop scope and engineering specifications, understand client's requirements, and prepare the basis of design (BOD), SD, DD, and CDs for bidding packages.

·         Establish and maintain bid documents, and submittals, respond to RFIs, and change orders.

·         Discipline project management with a focus on scope, budget, schedule, quality, and meeting deliverables.

·         Discipline and data center program management with a focus on next step strategies to stay ahead of technical advancements, client business model changes, and internal personnel staffing needs.

·         Collaborate with other internal and external disciplines to ensure proper project design. Develop or modify design standards in tandem with the latest technological development for design teams to follow.

·         Identify issues and problems and develop appropriate and timely solutions.

·         Assist and support junior personnel within the electrical engineering team.

·         Assist in the recruitment of talent needed to meet workload obligations.

·         Ability to work and coordinate with external stakeholders (client, general contractor, subcontractors, architects, AHJ).

·         Communicate and coordinate project deliverables with other disciplines.

·         Participate in weekly project meetings and communicate project status to both internal and external stakeholders on a continuous basis.

·         Endeavor to achieve client satisfaction through effective and positive business relations, direct daily interaction, on-time delivery of tasks, and scope of work.

·         Provide review comments on construction cost estimates.

·         Provide resolutions to issues that arise during construction/start-up/commissioning.

 

What You Bring – Qualifications

·         Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university or related field is required.

·         8-15 years of experience in consulting engineering with an A/E firm.

·         Experience in the following sectors: data center (required), and microelectronics, mission-critical, pharma, chemicals, or advanced manufacturing (preferred).

·         Experience must include using software (such as REVIT, AutoCAD, MS Office, etc.).

·         Experience with SKM, EasyPower ETAP, and Bluebeam.

·         Advanced working knowledge of NEC Codes and Standards  hazardous areas, and California Building Code-CBC).

·         Client facing/client relationship/client management skills.

·         Effective written and verbal communication skills.

·         Excellent planning and organizational skills.

·         Strong PM experience desired. PMP is a big plus.

·         Construction experience is a plus.

·         Strong interpersonal skills and experience helping to maintain successful client relationships.

·         Professional Engineering (PE) license.

 

Salary Range: $180,000 - $225,000 depending upon experience.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the proposed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, actual role and responsibilities. The range listed is just one component of Glumac's total compensation package for employees.
