Tetra Tech Architects & Engineers is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our full services design group dedicated to developing the best possible learning environments for students, faculty, and staff by focusing on the positive impact facilities have on education. If you are an experienced PE who enjoys problem-solving, mentoring, and positively impacting our communities – this role is for you!

This role reports directly to our Electrical Engineering Department Manager. Our practice's mission is to bring the finest professionals from all the major disciplines to support the creative and effective design of facilities. Our belief is that bringing the right input to the design process as early as possible increases client satisfaction with the overall project maximizes value and upholds the highest standards of technical excellence. You'll work closely with other engineers and architects, who has a long and successful history of delivering complex, innovative, and successful projects. Most importantly, you'll be joining a communities-focused, cohesive regional operating unit, supported by national and international resources.    

How You'll Make an Impact

The primary goal of this role is to contribute to the development of long-term growth and business plans. Your responsibilities include:

  • Design building electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, security, television, telephone, and communications systems.
  • Develop appropriate system concepts, perform calculations, layout, sizing, selections, and specifications, in coordination with other disciplines.
  • Act as lead engineer on specific projects, manage and mentor junior level department engineers and designers in developing contract drawings, cost estimates, technical specifications, and other relevant documents.
  • Perform site visits of existing electrical systems to evaluate or inspect work in progress/completed.
  • Communicate effectively and coordinate/meet with project teams, senior staff members, project managers, clients, and other parties.
  • Occasional travel to project sites is required, may include overseas travel.

You will achieve your best if you have…

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or relevant field.
  • 8+ years of related work design experience specifically with electrical systems for buildings
  • Licensed PE (Professional Engineer).
  • Knowledgeable of AutoCAD and Revit/BIM with working knowledge of MS Office

You will stand out with

  • Experience working in an Engineering and/or Architectural/Engineering consulting firm.
  • Experience working on K-12 school projects and/or federal projects.

Anticipated Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000. Please note that this range reflects the pay scale that Tetra Tech INE reasonably expects to pay for the role. The pay scale will also depend on various factors, such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills, and location.
