The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding a Project Civil Engineer to our Global Services Design Team based in our Marlborough, Massachusetts Office

 At Tetra Tech, our Global Services Design Team delivers comprehensive architecture and engineering solutions for our U.S. government clients around the globe. Our work spans facility and utility planning, design, and construction services throughout the entire project lifecycle. Our key clients include the US Department of Defense as well as USAID and MCC.  Our projects, include full design and construction support services for military base expansion and improvements.  This work encompasses everything from airfield pavements and roadways to water and wastewater piping and treatment to expansion of power and communications systems.  This work is associated with design and construction of new mission critical and support facilities.  Our international development work expands our services designing facility and supporting infrastructure for housing, healthcare facilities, schools, roads, and water systems.

Your Role:

  • Prepare detailed construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules, along with comprehensive design narratives
  • Perform advanced site layout, grading, drainage infrastructure calculations, and roadway layout and design
  • Design and layout water distribution and wastewater collection systems with a focus on compliance with applicable codes
  • Conduct and document design code reviews and ensure alignment with project requirements
  • Prepare and contribute to Master Development Plans and comprehensive engineering studies
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary architecture and engineering teams throughout the design lifecycle
  • Review and respond to construction shop drawings and RFIs (Requests for Information)
  • Mentor and support junior engineering staff to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Uphold strict compliance with QA/QC and safety procedures
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in civil engineering technology.

Qualifications

We are seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about civil engineering and thrive in collaborative environments. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Experience: 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in civil engineering design
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with Civil 3D and HydroCAD for design and analysis
    • WaterCAD experience a plus
    • Strong knowledge of drainage systems, water distribution, and wastewater collection network analysis
  • Time Management: Proven ability to meet project deadlines while adhering to quality standards
  • Software Proficiency: Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to participate in short-term international travel assignments as needed
  • Team Collaboration: Enthusiasm for contributing to team projects and mentoring junior staff
  • Driver's License: Ability to drive on an occasional basis for business purposes is preferred. To do this, you will need a valid driver's license, pass a motor vehicle record check, and maintain a safe driving record
  •  Additional Requirements: Due to the clients we serve, this position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence Card. Must be able to pass background screening including criminal history, credit check etc. 

Additional Information:

The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $99,000. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to geographic location, qualifications, licensures, certifications, experience, and other skills relevant to the needs of the business.
