Australia Awards Nauru

Australia Awards Scholarships are long-term awards administered by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Scholarships have long been a key component of Australia's development assistance to Nauru. Australia Awards offer the next generation of global leaders an opportunity to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia and the Pacific region. Through study and research, scholarship recipients develop the skills and knowledge they need to drive change and help build enduring people to people links in Australia and the Pacific region.

The Australia Awards Nauru program is managed by Tetra Tech International Development for the Australian DFAT.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop communications products such as publications, news stories, and social media content, including videos.
  • Assist AAN staff to ensure documents are well presented and comply with branding requirements.
  • Engage with newly returned alumni to understand any challenges they may face upon return to Nauru and offer suggestions for support.
  • Lead the preparation of detailed activity concepts notes and budgets for planned alumni engagement activities.

Selection criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in field such as Communications, Education, Management, International Development, or relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 1 years' experience providing support to a large program or organisation.
  • Experience preparing high quality and engaging communications products for various platforms including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining systems and processes for strong program management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is essential.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills in Nauruan and English.
