Meryl Williams Fellowship (MWF)
The prestigious Meryl Williams Fellowship (MWF) supports female agricultural researchers across the Indo-Pacific to improve their leadership and management skills. The MWF aims to contribute to more secure food systems by providing women in agricultural science with greater access to the resources and capacity-building initiatives that lead to improvements in decision-making, building collaborative networks, and supporting career advancement to drive institutional progress towards gender equity.
The MWF offers Fellows the chance to engage in intensive professional development through activities including learning workshops, a mentoring program, collaborative assignments, professional activities and digital engagement.
The MWF is fully funded by Australian Centre for International Agriculture Research (ACIAR). Tetra Tech has been contracted to design and deliver the MWF for an initial period of five years, with extension options for up to three years in total. Six cohorts, each with up to 20 participants, will be delivered in the initial five-year period. Tetra Tech's current delivery partner is the University of New England (UNE).
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the integration and delivery of program level performance: manage contractual requirements including reporting and deliverables such as annual reports and budgets.
- Manage cohort selection: review and shortlist applications, liaise with candidates and deliver selection summaries and outcome letters.
- Coordinate end to end professional activity process: including reviewing professional activity proposals.
- Provide pastoral care to Fellows for the duration of their leadership journey: including at face-to-face workshops held in Australia and across the region
- Drive excellence through high quality coordination: plan, lead and manage team contributions, reporting and efficient processes and procedures.
- Maintain and enhance strong relationships: positively engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders to support service delivery.
- Deliver financial and resource management oversight: monitor the program budget, forecasting and performance.
- Enhance program operations: contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Selection criteria
- Understanding and experience of the principles and practice of the project management cycle;
- Experience managing financial resources and budgets, with ability to plan, budget and forecast;
- Experience in managing applications for scholarship or fellowship programs and actively supporting recipients throughout their academic or professional development journey;
- Proven ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team in a complex project management environment with strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Effective leadership experience with the ability to coach and mentor others.
