The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech is adding a Mid-Level Civil/Water Resource Engineer to support the design and implementation of construction, civil, earthworks, water resource, aquatic restoration, and sediment remediation projects. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and engineering design. This position involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to develop sustainable environmental solutions.

Your Role:
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling related to river systems.
- Develop engineering design reports, plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Assist in the design and implementation of civil and water-related projects, particularly aquatic restoration and sediment remediation.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS for project development and execution.
- Prepare and analyze Civil 3D surfaces from survey data, LiDAR, and point cloud datasets.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including biologists, ecologists, and geomorphologists.
- Provide technical support during project permitting and regulatory compliance processes.
- Participate in fieldwork and site inspections to assess project feasibility and progress.
- Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering.
- Professional Engineering License (PE) in Wisconsin, Washington, and/or Oregon, or ability to obtain within six months.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for river systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil, earthworks, and water-related projects.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
- Excellent technical writing skills for reports, specifications, and regulatory documentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience with hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software (e.g., HY8, HEC-RAS, Hydraflow, HEC-HMS).
- Experience in construction oversight of aquatic restoration and sediment remediation projects.
- Familiarity with instream design techniques and best practices.
- Knowledge of sediment remedial design involving dredging and capping.
- Experience with land survey techniques, including RTK-GPS and Total Station equipment.
- Proficiency in Trimble Business Center software.
Health & Safety Considerations:
- Must adhere to all safety protocols while working in field environments.
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions and rugged terrain, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and conduct multi-day field assignments.
