Your Role: 

  

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer for our Pickering ON office. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Work with a team of skilled engineers, designers, procurement and construction  
  • Performs, and is responsible for, varied mechanical engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields; 
  • Solve problems by use of combinations of standard and modified standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments; 
  • Participate in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives; 
  • Responsible for supervising large groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers or as a highly specialized maintenance/technical engineer in servicing heavy industrial clients in the Nuclear Sector 

Qualifications: 

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is preferred.  
  • Registered or eligible to register with the PEO as a P.ENG 
  • 8+ years of working experience in design, process, maintenance engineering and engineering management within in the Nuclear, Power, or Industrial Facilities is considered an asset 
  • Previous Nuclear Mechanical Maintenance and/or Consulting Engineering experience is considered as asset 
  • Experience in communicating with other design disciplines and having an appreciation for the impact of their designs on other design disciplines is an asset; 
  • Must have strong computer oriented skills (familiarity with Autocad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions.) 
  • Working experience in principles and practices of nuclear engineering as applied to design and construction of projects is preferred. 
  • Coaching, professional service management, communication and interpersonal skills are essential 
  • Experienced in the use of MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint. 
  • Effective communication, organization and presentation skills 
  • Must be able to receive Security Clearance 

 

Additional Information 

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)

Some Tetra Tech positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law. These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.
