The Opportunity

  • Full-time position until 30 June 2027
  • Location: Port Moresby, PNG
  • Reserved for PNG citizens only

Position Overview: The Manager, Scholarships will be responsible for the planning and implementation of AAPNG Scholarships for studies in Australia and in PNG.. This role involves ensuring strong commitment to and compliance with Tetra Tech's values and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of Australia Awards and In-PNG scholarship activities in accordance with relevant policies and procedures, and approved annual plans
  • Monitor and manage variations to scholarships, including maintaining a process to receive and approve variation requests compliant with DFAT policies and procedures
  • Ensure awardee records are updated regularly and accurately on the DFAT scholarship records management system
  • Ensure agreed outputs are submitted on time and to a high standard in line with company and DFAT requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, quality reporting, milestones, deliverables, data and key performance indicators
  • Work collaboratively to build positive and constructive relationships with key stakeholders such as Australian and PNG tertiary institutions, government and non-government agencies and personnel, awardees, alumni and alumni networks and private partners.
  • Champion all activities addressing GEDSI principles and objectives
  • Lead by example and contribute to the development of a program culture that adheres to the Tetra Tech Values and Behaviours
  • Other duties from time to time, as may be reasonably requested by DFAT and Tetra Tech

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Undergraduate qualification in administration, project management, communications, education, human resources development, or an alternative relevant area of study
  • Experience in managing education programs and activities, preferably in higher education
  • Experience in project management, preferably in an international development context
  • Experience managing a diverse team
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Experience in report writing
  • Strong computer skills using all Microsoft Office 365 applications

Desirable:

  • Experience and understanding of international scholarships, including management of academic and welfare issues and continuing professional development
